Trends in color and the launch of Color Futures 2015 - Per Nimer. Color trends can emerge from all corners of society. Color Futures is the result of ongoing international color trend research. The presentation will provide the audience with the global style, design trends and influences and it will explain how these are subsequently translated into color palettes for use around the world.

Half day workshop – Trend
General color presentation that expands into a more detailed Trend presentation.

  • Why does a trend erupt, where does it come from, how long will it stay with us and where is it going?
  • How does the worldwide financial situation effect what color you paint your house or why does the natural trend decide what the vacuum cleaner looks like?
This will be followed by a hands-on workshop covering:
  • Where to look for trends.
  • Discussions on trend history.
  • Develop your own trend story and trend collage.

Target Audience: This program can be tailored for either architects or designers.
Time: Half day.
Audience Size: Limit approx 25 to allow for hands-on activity and interaction.


Half day workshop - Color
Introduction to what color is and what it is not.

  • How do we add color to objects or buildings?
  • What are the similarities and differences?
This color presentation is specifically tailored for the audience. i.e. Architecture, Graphic design or Industrial design.

After the presentation a number of hands-on tasks will explore the ideas presented and put them into practice.

Target Audience: Selected groups of either Architects, Graphic Designers or Industrial Designers.
Time: Half day.
Audience Size: Limit approx 25 to allow for hands-on activity and interaction.




Full day workshop – Color

The themes and subjects covered in the half day program are developed further to give an in-depth explanation of color and its usage. This workshop is tailored to suit the audience and the color discussions can be focused to specific areas of design. This will incorporate an analysis of the global differences in color use and how they can be interpreted.

The workshop will include a number of more complex tasks followed with a group critique to complete each task.

Target Audience: Selected group.
Time: Full day.
Audience Size: Limit approx 25 to allow for hands-on activity and interaction.
